Acef Stripe The Gateless Gate continues year after year to put out lovely music. In another generation, I believe there would be countless listeners to his music. Nonetheless, it will stand the test of time and proven to be near the cream of the crop. Recommended.

Tichounko I love everything my friend Allister makes, be it music made under his name or as Sons of Birches, his collabs, his covers or his novel. But music made under the Gateless Gate moniker is dearest to my heart because it’s how I discovered Allister’s world.

So it’s always a holiday for me when a new GG album is released. We Need Light is no different in this aspect. I’ve rejoiced with it many times already. It’s soothing (who would’ve guessed barking soothes), kind and serene.
