Since September 2012, The Gateless Gate has released 12 albums and EPs of new music in the ambient, psychedelic and experimental genres. Our music, which combines electronic and acoustic elements, generally attempts to express the spirituality of nature both through darker and more inspiring moods. A couple of albums came out via labels or netlabels, but most of it we released ourselves.

This compilation contains highlights from each album, some edited down from much longer track lengths. It is intended to provide an overview of the music to be found in the larger discography — and encouragement to listen further.

As of early 2016, we are working on a very large recording that hearkens back to the dark psychedelic rock roots of 2012's "Xinjiang" debut.

The Gateless Gate/Khan Tengri is an ambient/experimental/psychedelic music project from Ontario, Canada. Influences include Krautrock, progressive rock, world music, avant-garde and dark ambient. Each release focuses on a different combination of influences and experimentation.
